  • I haven’t thought/cared about Michael Jackson in years. It would seem disingenuous to change my stance now. #
  • Local database is completely corrupted today, so am rebuilding. This was not my plan for productivity. #

  • Reeling, then healing from the location loss. More prep = better movie. No retreat, no regrets… (Theoretically) #
  • Had my iPhone fixed, as penance for this day. #
  • Matt Myers has three baby birds that say ‘Beep beep’. Ridiculously cute. #
  • You cannot write a mission statement that doesn’t sound like bullsh*t. Yes, that’s a challenge. #

Twitter Weekly Updates for 2009-06-12

June 12th, 2009
  • Very long shooting day comes to a close. #
  • Heading for Solstice for the cafe shoot, then on to Smokers Paradise for the smoke shop scene. #
  • Post wrap drink with my DP. #
  • Mos Def’s new album is Amazon’s cheap download today. Go buy it, if you like good things. #
  • I wonder how many people are watching the liveblog in the office right now… #
  • Once again, AT&T shoots Apple in the foot. At what point does the regret become unbearable. No MMS until ‘later this summer’. #
  • Decidedly less than earth-shattering news on the new iPhone. If mine wasn’t broken, don’t think I’d upgrade. #
  • Last weekend was the big shoot with 20+ extras. This weekend is the private set with almost no cast. Guess which one I’m more worried about? #
  • At first, Lee Child’s descriptions of ubiquitous technology is quaint. After a while, it becomes grating and painfully dull. #

  • Bill Nighy - Amazing. #

Halfway through

June 8th, 2009

Finished principal photography on Sofia Warren this past weekend. Have one scene and some Motion work left to do before I can call that one “ready for edit”, but we’re getting close. Having rehearsal for Greyhound Retreat on Wednesday, then shooting on Friday and Saturday night. I’m extremely nervous and hopeful about that shoot. More later, when I can think. Pictures up soon from SW, as we had Imoto and Angelyn shooting prod stills, as well as Adam Thompson. There’s a wealth oh pics out there, I’m sure…

  • “Um… So…” Seriously. Stop beginning sentences like this. It’s irritating. #
  • Breakfast at the Flying Biscuit, with a shoot later on #
  • I need to stop working with people who don’t enjoy filmmaking. It’s hard enough. #
  • Eerily quiet in the office this morning. #
  • Hypothesis: The number of Twitter followers you have is irrelevant if they aren’t reading your stuff. #
  • Hypothesis #2: Someone will find a way to correlate page impressions with your followers to determine an “actual” followers list. #
  • Reunited with my proper car. #
  • Watching Pontypool on onDemand. Sort of wishing I would’ve waited to see it on the big screen, but so far it’s damn taut. #
  • Good Lord, this movie got intense REAL fast. #
  • Watching my officemates shoot Nerf darts at a pregnant woman. This may encapsulate why I work here. #
  • Cubs game, rehearsal, sleep #
  • Not quite the friendly confines, but not 750 miles away. #
  • Oh, Lord. Pressures for the shoot this weekend are mounting. #
  • Checking in a huge piece of functionality at the end of the day. Breaking my own golden rule. I’m sure it’ll be fine… #

Yeah, yeah… Still no updates

May 29th, 2009

This is the middle of Hell month for me, so you won’t see much from me. I’ve got two entries in the hopper that aren’t quite cooked yet, and I’m in the middle of four weekends of back to back shoots for Biopic. Hang in there, more later.

  • Just saw a live GT-R on the street. Beautiful car. #

May 22nd, 2009
  • Low End Theory came out in ‘91? Good God… #
  • In Adam T’s office. Behind the scenes at the zoo! (Not that exciting) #
  • Shut up Shut up Shut up Shut up… (This is only for my sanity, apologies.) #
  • Thrashing about in development quicksand. How can I possibly be making the environment worse?! #
  • The best part of Terminator Salvation is a music cue. Which isn’t to downplay the rest of it, but the cue is great. #
  • Still fighting the environment. Development would be so much easier if not for this. #
  • Had it for a while, but waving the white flag. Maybe tomorrow it’ll work… #
  • Really need to find a place to rehearse in the next couple weeks. #
  • It’s incredibly eerie when a song you’re listening to syncs up perfectly with life at the moment. (The song? The Muppet Show theme) #
  • Now that I know people watch my IM status to see what I’m listening to, I feel bad when I leave iTunes on pause. #
  • “Mona Lisa… on a motorcycle gang” #
  • The floor of the office is littered with Nerf darts. #
  • Amazing what stress can do to a mood from one second to the next. #

London is burning… Don’t tell the queen

May 20th, 2009

Been unreal busy these days, but I’ll put a proper post again soon. In the meantime, go check out Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros’s album Streetcore. You’ll thank me.

Also, have a metric ton of film ideas swirling around all the sudden. Also, I think I’m through with doing shorts for a while. Time to be a real filmmaker and make another feature. The front-runner is an idea that came from watching Brewster’s Millions. No kidding.
